In April 2018, RRPD signed a contract with the Texas Commission on Law EnforcementĀ to have our own Police Academy. For years, we’ve been hosting a regional academy. This will allow us to teach our own Round Rock-specific best practices, in addition to the state-required rubric.

Physical Fitness

Physical fitness is part of the culture at the Round Rock Police Department. Once they become sworn officers, the training continues with annual, timed completion of the RRPD obstacle course. Officers are not just allowed to workout while on duty, it’s required.
